Best Entry Level Cordless Mower ? Greenworks 40v Cordless Mowers
Greenworks make superb batteries for famous brands and also 5 ranges of their own cordless tools from 24-80v. The two 40v mowers I tried both cut very well and are reliable and easy to use. The 35cm cut version shown above is very good value with its 2 amp hour battery and is on its 3rd season of regular use. Several models are available in different sizes and can be purchased with or without batteries. Premium models now have more efficient brushless motors and the new 80v model with a 21 inch cut can make a good alternative to a gasoline mower. The Most Powerful User-Propelled Cordless Mowers 56V Ego Cordless Mower and 80v Greenworks
EGO Power+ LM2133 21-Inch Select Cut Mower with 5.0Ah Battery and Rapid Charger Included I am currently testing the EGO Power+ 56V cordless mower. This impressive mower appeared in 2015 and gives a 21nch wide cut. It is powerful enough to replace a petrol mower for many domestic lawns. The patented 56v, 5 amp hour, Li-ion battery uses a new C shaped design that keeps it cool and thus performing better. On an average lawn the battery should give 45 minutes of cutting on average length grass. The quality of the body is exceptional and I love the easy height adjustment, easy battery removal and the LED headlights. The Ego battery is unique and so far has proved to be very reliable. The EGO power+ lawnmower has the best folding handle mechanism I have seen and this will help you store this beast of a mower in a relatively small space. I do believe that this product heralds the beginning of the end for the gasoline mower in the domestic setting. The superb battery can power other garden tools and there is also a lighter weight, 2 amp/hour battery available.
The Biggest Cordless Mowers Since testing the Ego 56v mower higher capacity 80v models have appeared from rival company Greenworks. The Greenworks Pro has a 21 inch cut, 4 amp hour battery but no collecting box. Greenworks Pro 80V 21 Inch Cordless Push Lawn Mower, Includes 4Ah Battery and Charger, 2501202 As with the Ego mower the battery can be used in a range of other tools such as blowers, weed wackers and hedge cutters. However if you are planning on using an 80v hedge cutter or similar tool you had better be built like boxer Diante Wilder who is very strong (but strong enough to beat British boxer Tyson Fury)

Worx 40v Cordless Mowers 2 x 20v Powershare Batteries
Worx WG743 40V PowerShare 4.0Ah 17" Lawn Mower w/ Mulching & Intellicut (2x20V Batteries) I have been using Worx cordless mowers since 2010 when their 24v mower used an old lead acid battery. Then Worx introduced a 40v Li-ion battery and that mower impressed me too. Now Worx have moved to the increasingly popular method of linking two small 20v batteries to make 40v. Using 2 small batteries means that you can also use them individually in the massive range of Worx 20v Powertools.

Robot Lawnmowers - The Ultimate Cordless Lawnmower The Husqvarna 105 Automower
The Husqvarna robot mower shown above is the 220AC Auotmower that I tested on my lawn for 2 seasons. It has been replaced with the 105 automower that now has a Lithium Ion battery, that will run for 70 minutes and cut up to 600m2. The automower blades are like 3 small razor blades located on the edge of a rotating disc. It is very quiet and has an amazing amount of programming and setup options to suit many lawn types and user requirements. Husqvarna also own the Flymo brand who offer the cheapest credible robot mower in the UK, and the McCulloch brand. Flymo, McCulloch and Husqvarna robotic mowers all use the same 3 wheel platform and probably many other common parts. I tested the Fiskars Staysharp over 3 seasons and was very impressed. The grass box does not come with the mower but is available as an option. The mower is quite expensive but is superb quality and will save you a fortune at the gym! If you like the fine cut of a cylinder mower but are not fit enough to push one or have a large lawn there are now cordless, battery powered cylinder mowers available.

TIPS TO MAKE YOUR MOWER LAST LONGER AND IMPROVE BATTERY DURATION Keep the underside of the mower clean and the blade sharp. You will also be able to cut the lawn faster and it will look better with a clean cut to the ends of the blades of grass Cut regularly so that the battery is not strained by long grass. Remember to charge the battery over winter and don't leave it in a damp shed.
Best Value Lawn Treatment Product
A thick mossy lawn is hard to cut and can strain the motor of your mower. Many lawn treatment products are just cleverly packaged iron sulphate. Fred uses iron sulphate to kill his moss. Fred is smart - be like Fred and use iron sulphate to improve your mowing!
